Guru profile
Rajesh is an amateur tabla enthusiast, and the founder of WorldMusicGuru. Since 1994, Rajesh has learned various facets of tabla, both solo compositions and accompaniment, from many of the Boston area's finest teachers, including Shri Nishikant Sonwalkar, Shri Aditya Kalyanpur (disciple of Ustad Alla Rakha), and Jerry Leake. Rajesh has also learned online from accomplished young tabla artists in Pune, India, such as Nikhil Phatak and Ganesh Tanwade, disciples of Pt. Yogesh Samsi and Pt. Ramdas Palsule respectively. For five years, Rajesh participated as a member of amateur group Ragini, accompanying classical, semi-classical and folk songs. For the past six years, Rajesh has been teaching beginners through private lessons at his home. |

Lesson Details
Lessons focus on establishing good habits and fundamentals - both physical and mental development are emphasized, through recitation and memorization of tabla compositions. Common Hindustani rhythms(taals) are also taught. |
